Your subscription

The Account page shows the state of your subscription and hands off to the payment provider for anything that changes it — including cancelling.

Before you start

  • A signed-in account. Everything below is on the Account page in the rail.

Steps

  1. Open Account and find Subscription

It is the middle section, and it is read-only: your plan, and the date the current period runs to.

The date row says current period ends rather than “renews on”, because from this page the two look identical — whether it renews or stops on that date is a fact the payment provider holds.

  2. Press Manage subscription

This opens the payment provider’s own billing portal, on their site. It is where the card, the invoices and the cancellation actually live — we do not hold card details, so there is nothing about them to edit on our side.

The button is only there when there is a subscription behind the account to manage. A comped account has none, and never will.

  3. Cancel there if you want to

Cancelling in the portal is what stops the charges. The account stays usable until the end of the period you have already paid for, so cancelling on day two of a month does not lock you out on day two.

Cancelling during a trial means nothing is charged at all.

  4. Come back to the board

Changes made in the portal reach us within moments. If the page still shows the old state, reload it.

What happens next

  • The plan row on the Account page reflects what the app has decided about your access, which is the thing that actually gates the board.
  • If a subscription lapses, signing in lands on the checkout page rather than the board — and paying again puts everything back exactly as it was.
  • Nothing on your board is deleted when a subscription ends. It is out of reach, not gone.

If something goes wrong

Each row is what you see on screen. Symptoms are worded the way the app words them, so the sentence in front of you should be findable on this page.

There is no Manage subscription button
There is no subscription behind the account — either it was never started, or the account has been given access by hand. Neither has anything for the portal to show.
You paid but the board still says you have not
Confirmation usually arrives within seconds. Reload first; if it persists past a minute or two, sign out and back in, and email us if it survives that.
You cancelled and can still get in
Expected. Cancelling stops the renewal — the period you have paid for runs to its end.
The plan and the date seem to disagree
They can, legitimately. The plan row is the app’s decision about access; the date is the provider’s record of the period. An account given access by hand is entitled with no subscription behind it at all.
You want everything deleted, not just cancelled
Cancelling is a billing action and leaves your data alone. Email us for a deletion — and export your data first if you want a copy.
The billing portal will not open
Try again in a moment. If it keeps failing, the fault is on our side or the provider’s rather than yours — email us and we will sort the change out directly.

Next

  • Export your data Download a JSON file of your notes and checklists, tags included. What is in it and what is not.
  • Create your account Sign up, confirm your email, and start the trial. Three steps, and the middle one is the one people miss.
  • When you cannot sign in Wrong password, unconfirmed address, too many attempts, or an account with no password at all — how to tell which.
